The Lotz House is the perfect complementary companion to the historic Carter House, historic Carnton Plantation and the McGavock Confederate Cemetery. It takes only 110 short steps to walk from the front door of the Lotz House to the front door of the Carter House located directly across the street, and Carnton is just one mile away.
The Lotz House Museum Shop
Housed within the Lotz House, our Museum Shop is well stocked with unique, intriguing gifts and souvenirs awaiting your discovery. It boasts a wide selection of items to commemorate your visit, in addition to a variety of one-of-a-kind antiques, collectibles and meticulously crafted items from local artisans.
Also featured are an array of DVDs & VHS tapes, prints and books about The Battles of Franklin and Nashville, the Civil War and history in general. From small trinkets to the elaborate, we’ve got something that will bring a smile to faces young and old alike.
Additionally, you may purchase gift certificates in the Museum Shop.
The Museum Shop is located directly inside the main entrance of the Lotz House, and is open during normal business hours.

Thomas Y. Cartwright, one of the nation’s leading authorities on the Battle of Franklin, is offering personalized walking tours of the Battlefield from the Lotz House. You’ve seen him on the History Channel, Discovery and The Learning Channel. Now he can be your personal tour guide as you walk with him over the battlefield and hear the stories of some of the bravest men in history – the soldiers of the Battle of Franklin.
Cartwright, well-known internationally for his knowledge and passion for the Civil War and the Battle of Franklin, will lead this 90-minute tour that centers on ground zero of the Franklin battlefield on and near Columbia Avenue .
